"Waiting On" Wednesday: The Power of Six

The Power of Six (Lorien Legacies #2)
Pittacus Lore
August 23, 2011

I've seen him on the news. Followed the stories about what happened in Ohio. John Smith, out there, on the run. To the world, he's a mystery. But to me . . . he's one of us.

Nine of us came here, but sometimes I wonder if time has changed us—if we all still believe in our mission. How can I know? There are six of us left. We're hiding, blending in, avoiding contact with one another . . . but our Legacies are developing, and soon we'll be equipped to fight. Is John Number Four, and is his appearance the sign I've been waiting for? And what about Number Five and Six? Could one of them be the raven-haired girl with the stormy eyes from my dreams? The girl with powers that are beyond anything I could ever imagine? The girl who may be strong enough to bring the six of us together?

They caught Number One in Malaysia.

Number Two in England.

And Number Three in Kenya.

They tried to catch Number Four in Ohio—and failed.

I am Number Seven. One of six still alive.

I never thought a novel series about teenage aliens could turn out so cool. I'm really looking forward to finding out what happens to "John", especially after the tragic turn of events at the end of I Am Number Four (not that I'm trying to spoil it for anyone), and being able to hear from another of the Legacies is going to be pretty awesome.

On a side note, I still haven't been able to make myself watch the movie. I'll probably end up being depressed because of how much they changed the storyline/added more kissy-kissy Alex Pettyfer scenes for the sake of catering to squealing teenage girls/made the high school look like Forks, complete with blue lockers and drab scenery - yes, I did force myself to see the trailer, and believe me, I was quite disappointed.

I'll probably get around to seeing it. Someday. When I can control my gag reflex.

Tbh I haven't read the first one, but I did enjoy the movie. A good friend of mine read the book first and thought the movie did the action a lot better. As for Twilight-ifying it, they need to sell tickets hehe.

Thanks for sharing this, I really should try read these and make up my own mind.

Here's my WoW this week

I can't wait for this book to come out! I loved the first one, and as for comparing the movie and the book... I see them as two separate things. I liked the movie... but it definitely wasn't the book. And from your comments I'm not sure you'll like it at all after watching the ENTIRE thing lol. Probably not at all. ;) Thanks for stopping by!
